Nihan Yesil is a composer, sound designer, multimedia artist, and arts entrepreneur. They compose both acoustic concert music and electroacoustic music, and design sound for film, video, and stage.

Nihan started studying classical music with her father at an early age and earned a bachelor's degree in Jazz Composition in Istanbul, Turkey. They continued with M.M. in Composition at the UMKC Conservatory of Music and Dance and participated in numerous residencies including the Henry Mancini Institute, Czech-American Summer Music Institute, Brevard Music Festival, Electronic Music Midwest Festival, Women in New Music, Oregon Bach Festival Composers Symposium, Escape to Create Artist-in-Residence Program, Charlotte Street UCP Studio Residency, and I-Park Artists' Enclave Residency where they also served as a selection committee member for the composition program for two years. Their passion for dramatics arts and working with visual media pushed them to further their studies with an M.F.A. degree in Sound Design at the UMKC Technical Theatre.

Nihan is currently a Visiting Assistant Professor of Sound Design and Technology at Ball State University Theatre and Dance Department.

In 2020, during the pandemic, she co-founded BONNOB Productions which produces high-quality audio content for children. Their first audio story, Leila and The Robot was licensed by kids' audio story platform Kidly and was translated into four languages.
